Why go vegan...?

Why go vegan...?

Going vegan is more than not eating meat.

As we are all facing the climate change it is urgent to think of a new lifestyle in order to shrink our environmental footprint, it is also a way to reduce some risks of various diseases and of course it reduces animal suffering and advocates for a more compassionate world by avoiding products made from animals.

Veganism is about modifying consumption habits that cause harm to animals, no matter how great or small. Veganism aims to reduce animal suffering and advocate for a more compassionate world by avoiding products made from animals.

• The impact of animal farming (mostly of cows, chickens and pigs) and the dairy industry has a significant effect on the air, land, soil, water, biodiversity and climate change as we can see since a while hence the urge to shrink our environmental footprint and go for environmental veganism. This specific form of veganism focuses its way of living on how to have a sustainable way of life without consuming animals. As an example, a 2018 study found that global adoption of plant-based diets would reduce agricultural land use by 76% (3.1 billion hectares, an area the size of Africa) and cut total global greenhouse gas emissions by 28% (half of this emissions reduction came from avoided emissions from animal production including methane and nitrous oxide, and half came from trees re-growing on abandoned farmland which remove carbon dioxide from the air). Another 2017 study by the World Wildlife Fund found that 60% of biodiversity loss can be attributed to the vast scale of feed crop cultivation needed to rear tens of billions of farm animals, which puts an enormous strain on natural resources resulting in an extensive loss of lands and species. On August 8, 2019, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change released a summary of the 2019 special report which asserted that a shift towards plant-based diets would help to mitigate and adapt to climate change.

• A direct consequence of animal farming is the midst of increasing incidences of cancer and heart disease along other diseases such as the mad cow disease and a potential impact with Alzheimer Disease or neurological disorders. Well-planned vegan diets tend to be higher in dietary fibre, magnesium, folic acid, vitamin C, vitamin E, iron, and phytochemical, and lower in dietary energy, saturated fat, cholesterol, omega-3 fatty acid, vitamin D, calcium, zinc and vitamin B.

Go vegan for the animals, it saves the lives of many species avoiding them to be slaughtered and to suffer. Some large corporations involved in factory farming have been obscuring the horrifying conditions and worst tortures endured by animals. Nowadays consumers know through countless undercover investigations and awareness campaigns how and where most of the animal products come from and the horror of forced molting, battery cages, dairy cruelty, mutilations, selective breeding connected to this industry.

Many more reasons to go vegan could be stated and it is easy with a few mouse-clicks to acquire the right informations from serious organisations and institutions, more than never it is important to take some rightful decisions.

Are you ready for a change...?

Why not starting by small and easy changes like purchasing clothing items and accessories made of organic materials such as hemp, linen, cotton, canvas, polyester, artificial leather (made from pineapples, cactus, or mushroom), rubber or vinyl among many other fabrics.

I designed items in my collections made of vegan fabrics with the “PETA-Approved Vegan” logo, being a cat some might assume that I eat other animals and that such initiatives are simply a window dressing in order to sell my products nevertheless I have always refused to eat any meat and when I met my human he had some real troubles to find the right diet for me. By the way it is certainly no coincidence that my human is vegan as well and has never tasted meat.

When you wear or use any item from my work keep in mind that it was designed by a sensitive animal, like all other animals, and be proud to be a part of the change because, no matter how small is your involvement, you are making a great contribution for your well-being, for the planet and you help to save the life of one animal each day...
